I am Reid Phillips, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for the Vail Town Council.
I’m running for Vail Town Council because I deeply cherish this town and its community. Vail has been my home for nearly three decades, and it’s where my family and I have created lasting memories and connections. From patrolling the slopes to starting my own business and engaging in charitable work, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing Vail from various angles. Now, I feel it’s time to give back to the place that has given me so much. I want to ensure that Vail remains the incredible place it is, where families can thrive, businesses can flourish, and our natural surroundings are protected. I’m running to bring my experience, dedication, and passion to the Vail Town Council, to work collaboratively for a brighter future for all of us who call Vail home.
ABOUT ME
As a Colorado Native, I first arrived in this beautiful town back in the spring of 1994 when I took up a position with Ski Club Vail. I’ve proudly served as a Patroller at Vail for 18 seasons. Vail holds a special place in my heart not only because of my career but also because it’s where my wife and I have built our life together for the past two decades. We’ve watched our two daughters grow up here.
My journey with Vail started in 1970 when I first hit the slopes here, and it’s been a remarkable ride ever since. In 2007, I established my own construction company, HW Builders, a name that honors my daughters, Hayden and Weston. Over the years, I’ve actively participated in various non-profit and local charity initiatives, recognizing the value of giving back to the community that has given us so much.
Additionally, I’ve proudly served as a member of the Town of Vail Planning and Environmental Commission (PEC) board for the last three years, gaining valuable insights into the workings of our local government. I am dedicated to ensuring Vail remains a vibrant and thriving community for generations to come, and I believe my experience and commitment make me the right choice for Vail Town Council.
